Karaoke is all about audience participation. If you are a bride or groom who has friends or family who like to sing-a-long or want a highly interactive event for your company or birthday party add karaoke to your dance package.
I also frequently do Karaoke shows in area bars that are alot of fun. Check My Schedule page to see if there are any events you can come to.
I've currently got over 2700 individual Karaoke songs on CD. 95% of what I buy are Sound Choice brand discs; they sound the most like the original recordings (but are also the most expensive). I've got a wide variety of music and styles in this collection - Oldies, Country, plenty of 70's and 80's rock and R&B, 90's and current. There is something for everyone.
I use a Mackie 12 channel mixer and run 4 microphones at most Karaoke shows - 3 wired Shure SM-58's (built like a tank and sounds good) and my prized Sennheiser wireless. All can have echo and reverb effects mixed in accordingly. Remember how good you sounded when you were singing in the shower this morning? It's all about the reverb! My Mackie speakers and Yamaha Subs come along for top-notch sound quality. I set up a video monitor and small audio floor monitor in front of the singers so they can read the lyrics as they flow by on the screen and can hear the music and vocals clearly.
I do my best to get guests and patrons involved in the fun; usually singing several songs before the crowd warms up (I'm not a bad singer, but I haven't taken a vote). 12 karaoke song books with pencils and song slips are distributed to the room. I also bring my regular dance music collection. Not everyone wants to sing all the time and my Karaoke gigs are usually enhanced by periods of dance music.
If you are a bar owner or manager thinking about trying some new entertainment in your establishment - give me a shot. I have a fair rate for businesses but usually don't book these weekend dates more than 5 to 6 weeks in advance. If you'd like to be on my postcard mailing list give me a call or e-mail.
